FAW Foundry Co., Ltd is a full capital subsidiary company of China FAW Group Corporation. FAW Foundry Co., Ltd Foundry Research Institute is the technological center of FAW Foundry Co., Ltd and was founded in April 2000 by integrating all FAW's foundry technological resources. The institute mainly undertakes the development (R & D) and trial manufacture of castings for automobile and engineering machinery etc. and in particular has successful experience and technological advantages in respect of development and fast trial manufacture of complicated automobile castings such as cylinder blocks and cylinder head. As the technological support for product development (R & D) and fast trial manufacture, the institute owns all kinds of cast iron, aluminum, magnesium materials and process technologies as well as computer simulation, auxiliary material and fast prototype technologies. As a production base of the institute, the pilot workshop and large castings workshop owned by the institute can undertake the development (R & D) and trial manufacture of new products and production of complicated and large castings. The Test Center can perform test on castings, on raw materials and on auxiliary materials of castings from its customers.
The Foundry Research Institute and FAW Foundry Co., Ltd have been certified by ISO/TS16949 at the same time. The Test Center has passed the metrological certification made by Jilin Provincial Quality & Technical Supervision Bureau and the lab accreditation made by the national lab CNAL according to ISO/IEC17025: 2005.
Being at the advancing front of foundry technologies and new product development (R & D) in China FAW Group Corporation, the institute provides new products and foundry technologies to the production base of FAW Foundry Co., Ltd. The Foundry Company is capable of annual mass production of 360, 000 tons of various cast iron, aluminum and magnesium castings for automobile.
FAW Foundry Co., Ltd Foundry Research Institute has Jilin Province Foundry Association under its organization. With this Association as its carrier, the institute takes the advantages of the foundry technologies in Jilin Province so as to provide domestic and overseas foundry enterprises with such technical services as technical consulting, foundry design, castings technique and tooling design, tackling key problems of foundry technologies.
